packing list

To ensure that campers have the best experience possible at our Midwest Diocese Camp at Gracanica, below is a packing list of the most important items they will need to bring.

NOTE:

• Always refer to the packing list when choosing attire for camp

• Jeans, t-shirts, gym shoes are not appropriate Church attire 

• Church attire for girls prohibits bare shoulders, skirts/dresses above the knee, gym shoes

• Girls may not wear halter tops or those that expose the midriff

• Girls may not wear shorts that are above mid-thigh

• There is to be no writing on the backside of shorts or pants

• Any clothing displaying vulgar or explicit language is not allowed

• Campers in attire deemed inappropriate by a staff member will be required to change. If they do not have an alternate choice, appropriate clothing will be provided.

• For health and safety reasons, outside food is not allowed (do not pack treats)

CHURCH ATTIRE

Church attire should be modest and appropriate; if you do not have suitable clothing we will contact your parent/guardian to bring you appropriate clothing 

Boys church attire:

• Khaki pants or dress slacks 

• Collared dress shirt or polo 

• Dress shoes or loafers 

• NO t-shirts, jeans or gym shoes 

Girls church attire:

• • • Dresses or skirts at the knee or longer 

    • Sweater to cover shoulders 

    • Sensible shoes; no gym shoes 

    • NO pants or shorts 

    • NO spaghetti straps, tops that reveal navel/midriff area

DAILY CLOTHING

Daily clothing is to be modest and appropriate for a monastery camp

• T-shirts or tops

  • • No halter tops

    • No tops that reveal navel/midriff area

    • No vulgarity or profanity on any article of clothing

• Shorts (appropriate length)

  • • No shorts above mid-thigh, short shorts, etc.

    • No writing on the backside of shorts or pants

• Jeans or sweatpants

• Sweatshirt or light jacket

• Undergarments

• Pajamas

• Socks

• Gym shoes / running shoes

• Sandals, slippers or flip-flops

• Church shoes

• Candlelight dinner outfit

• Swim apparel (girls: modest one piece swimsuit; boys: swim trunks)

• Beach towel

BATHROOM ITEMS

BED AND BATH

• Sheets: fitted and flat (twin size)
